I love jarrolds as a store and was delighted to see they were offering beauty treatments in store. I booked in on line for a OPI pamper manicure(45 minuted£32) and a OPI pamper pedicure(60 minutes £37) . I was taken down to the basement for the pedicure and although this was ok. It did not take 60 minutes and I certainly did not feel that it included an”extended massage and acupressure experience” indeed I had to ask for additional lukewarm water to be added to the steel basin where my feet were soaking frankly I could have done this better at home for free. I was then taken up to the main shop for my next “luxurious and tranquil “ experience.my manicure which to be honest did not include a massage and acupressure. I was seated in the open shop in the main way through to other areas not a relaxing experience at all.The young lady who performed both treatments was pleasant but I am concerned that she had no idea about what she was meant to provide and particularly the differences between the different levels of manicure and pedicure as described. I had arrived for my booked appointment at 1315 and My total time for the treatments I paid for was meant to be 1hour and 45 minutes. My payment receipt records my payment time as 14 38 ie 22minutes short of the time I had paid for. I do not normally find fault but I do feel that I did not receive the service described or what I had paid for. . I have tried calling jarrolds today got through to their so called customer care line who did nothing except put the call through to the beauty manager the phone rang for 10 minutes and was not picked up. For a store the calibre of jarrolds this is no good . I really feel that the contract I entered into has not been delivered.

I was so disappointed with my pedicure today. The girl was lovely and the final result was good, but it was the most ‘unspecial’ pedicure experience. I had to walk upstairs mid way through my pedicure to choose a nail colour- there were no nail colour selection samples available. I was sat in an upright office style chair. I asked for a drink and was given a cup of water in a white disposable plastic cup. Perhaps I am being picky, but I have a completely different experience at the usual place I have my pedicures. I won’t be returning.

I’ve been there 3 times to get my nails done and I’ve always left so disappointed. Once I had to go back because my nails was peeling off after couple of hours. I’ve had it done gel and normal nail polish . The products they are amazing but they are used by the wrong unprofessional staff. Very disappointed and unhappy after my last visit. I am not going to be back there again. Not worth the money . I wouldn’t recommend.

I came inside today which I normally do have my eyebrows done the normal lady who dose has left so treatment was done by a man which I believe was new to store as he did not seem to know what he was doing tint my skin over my eye not the hairs on my eye brows missed up the shape off my brows which a lady had to take over from him which now iv been leafed with very thin looking eyebrows 4 pounds was taken off my bill I believe which dose not make up for the mistakes made today and my self being scared to even look at my eyebrows and feel like everyone is looking I feel after years coming into and happy I’m now disappointed and will not use any services in store again

Very disappointed with my lashes, I had heard great things about the retreat and after showing a photo of my previous lashes l was expecting something very similar. The lashes are no where neat as good as l thought they would be and then to be charged £80 for them was the last insult. Bearing in mind that it is so close to Christmas and I am actually flying out on Christmas day, it is too late to have more lashes and the dramatic look l asked for. I feel that I have been mislead in the lashes l have expected especially as l had shown a photo of my previous and what l was expecting. Although l told her that l was expecting dramatic she just explained what she had done and recommended Russian lashes next time. I will not be recommending The Retreat to any of my friends and will be emailing and making a formal complaint.

I'm disappointed again with the service. I always book appointments but was left waiting 20 minutes last time and 10 minutes this time, I'm usually kept waiting. I have to rush up from Riverside Road for these appointments and only get half an hour paid breaks so am disappointed at this level of service. My eyebrows were over plucked too - when I clearly said I wanted to keep them as full as possible and just wanted a tidy up.
