heavily overpriced for the experience. the haircut itself was done exactly how i wanted it, but the blowdry was not done properly and i had to go over it at home, which is not what i want after a salon visit. staff are kind but not very communicative. overall, would not visit this salon again.

Root colour does not match the colour of the rest of my hair. Clear dark line at the root. Very disappointed, it was a waste of my time and money

Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I didn't find the service personal, attentive or even friendly. I felt like just a number being rushed through my very expensive visit. No time to drink the tea offered. Was not handed a tissue (as offered) when my makeup smeared down my face after crying silently. After a long wait until my hairdresser finished the stage she she doing, I needed to rummage for a tissue in my purse and dampen it with water from the shampooing sink to clean my face. I also felt rushed/ not listened to when deciding on a style. I didn't come in wanting the same old yet left with pretty much this. At one point, the hairdresser commented that they were repeating themselves. Our conversation was very brief so this felt unnecessarily defensive to me. Even when paying, the receptionist was answering the phone and a colleague was just hanging about her side (I presume I interrupted his conversation with her). He did not acknowledge/assist me. The receptionist did manage a kind smile and thank you as I left, which was appreciated. To be fair, I find these environments difficult. It was just business as usual for the salon. I have a very stressful life as a carer so I was looking for some TLC, which I did not find here. All the best to the staff and salon. This is my honest experience.

Overall, the service and attention was poor. I felt the service was rushed and I was ignored outside the 10 minutes that took. I have confidence that I had a professional treatment & the result was good, but the experience was not. The highlight was the backwash chair & lovely girl who washed it.

First visit after years. I went for a trim. The welcome at reception was excellent and the member of staff at reception area was professional and very welcoming. The person cutting my hair was about 5 minutes late which they apologised for; the lateness wasn’t a big deal but combined with their general humourless (borderline defensive) manner, the experience wasn’t pleasant. I try to keep in mind that we don’t always know what’s happening in another person’s life but in an industry where one’s working with the public, it’s helpful to have a pleasant manner. The conversation was hard work with my attempts at softening the mood falling flat. They did have a very gentle contact with my head and hair which was a big plus for me but afraid I won’t be returning, which is a pity as this salon was recommended by a close friend recently and who will be disappointed to know how it went. The cut was good but I tied it up before leaving.

I have been coming to Armstrong Cuthbert somewhat regularly for a few years now. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are all friendly. Ellie has cut my hair the last two times I've been in, and she seems to just know what I want! All round, it's a great experience.
