Me and my mum came together on Saturday 07/09 at 9am we were told the lady who worked on sana was off sick and the next lady would be in at 9.30. We waited 20 minutes for the lady to arrive and when she did she did not know what we had booked in for and assumed I was having threading which I was not. I had booked in to have my eyebrows waxed and tinted online. When I told the lady this she told me she could not do a wax, when I asked why she said it was because the wax machine was not on and it would take a long time to heat up. She discussed with a lady who worked at the retreat section who had blonde hair in a bun about if she could do the wax for my eyebrows which she said she could but there would be a 15 minute wait as someone was in the treatment room downstairs. As I waited the lady from sana tinted my eyebrows, she dropped the cotton bud on my top which has stained with the tint, I appreciate that accidents happen however I feel as though from the minute she arrived she rushed everything and was not fully prepared for the day. I expect to be able to book a treatment with sana online and be able to arrive and have the treatment I had booked for which was not the case. The sana lady questioned me throughout tinting as to why I didn’t want threading and it felt like she was trying to pressure me into having threading. Fortunately one of the ladies of the retreat section was able to wax my eyebrows and she was very apologetic and lovely. I could not fault her at all. I am quite disappointed that I received this poor treatment from sana as it has put me off booking with them again.

I went to Jarrolds for this treatment specifically because I felt I would receive good service. I was really disappointed. The woman was very grumpy and impatient with me. Very demanding when giving me instructions as she was threading my eyebrows. It was an overall really bad experience and has put me off returning. The woman didn’t crack a smile at all and just seemed really annoyed by everything.

I wasn’t really impressed with my nail appointment and left pretty disappointed. My gel removal was not thorough, leaving a thin layer beneath my new polish. The therapist filed the gel off first - catching my cuticle skin several times and leaving spotting. This meant the removal fluid really stung for over ten minutes whilst I waited for the gel to soak off. The shaping was just a tidy up but this didn’t leave all nails the same length. The shaping of my nails created dust that wasn’t removed before painting with just opi regular varnish - so the finished look included white dust in the sides of each nail. Having booked the signature manicure (including massage and acupressure) I didn’t get this, when I highlighted this to the therapist she said she could do the rest now (even though my nails were still wet) or just pay for express (and forget about the cost of the gel removal). The therapist was polite and could tell I wasn’t pleased hence the reduction in the fee, but overall the quality of service should be much higher. Wouldn’t recommend and doubt I will be returning. There were no other members of staff on the opi counter at the time of paying, otherwise I would have considered expressing my disappointmentment to a manager.

You should state that this facility is on the shop floor, rather than in the Retreat, the lady doing the threading was simply not interested - no customer service skills at all. whilst value for money, it felt like a conveyor belt

I'm disappointed again with the service. I always book appointments but was left waiting 20 minutes last time and 10 minutes this time, I'm usually kept waiting. I have to rush up from Riverside Road for these appointments and only get half an hour paid breaks so am disappointed at this level of service. My eyebrows were over plucked too - when I clearly said I wanted to keep them as full as possible and just wanted a tidy up.

Very disappointed with my lashes, I had heard great things about the retreat and after showing a photo of my previous lashes l was expecting something very similar. The lashes are no where neat as good as l thought they would be and then to be charged £80 for them was the last insult. Bearing in mind that it is so close to Christmas and I am actually flying out on Christmas day, it is too late to have more lashes and the dramatic look l asked for. I feel that I have been mislead in the lashes l have expected especially as l had shown a photo of my previous and what l was expecting. Although l told her that l was expecting dramatic she just explained what she had done and recommended Russian lashes next time. I will not be recommending The Retreat to any of my friends and will be emailing and making a formal complaint.
