I was called 45 minutes before my appointment, which I booked via the online system, and was asked to come in earlier. I said, I was about to leave but would get there as soon as I could, traffic permitting. It normally takes 25 minutes to get in to reading town centre, but because of the rush hour traffic it took slightly longer. I got another call at 17.30, which I couldn’t answer as I was parking my car. Then another call at 17.35, I was able to pick up but was met with a very moody voice, telling me basically to hurry up. I think this treatment is completely uncalled for, as I did turn up to the salon 5 minutes before my appointment. When I arrived, the atmosphere was nice in the salon but the blond female hairdresser seemed slightly annoyed and didn’t seem interested in any form of interaction. I probably said two lines about what I wanted done to my hair before she carted me away to the sink. During the cut, the hairdresser was coughing, which I could feel land on my face, which is just plain disgusting. Half way through the cut, she did offer me a drink, which I appreciated and when it got time to paying (leaving a tip) her tone certainly improved. I’m not a confrontational person, so maybe it’s on me for not speaking up during my appointment but I think paying £62 for the that kind of treatment is awful. The only positive I can really say is that she did a good job on the haircut.
