I usually have a really good experience at Alan Edwards and am offered a drink/tea etc... seen on time, clean environment and I had come to expect this - but unfortunately this appointment didn't meet the salon's usual standards at all. I had to wait nearly 20 mins to be seen by the stylist and was left a couple of times, again without offer of a tea or anything to read. The cut was good quality and speedy.... but it somehow took 45 mins for my hair to be dried by one of the assistants (I have relatively thin wavy shoulder length hair and 10 mins is what I would expect) whilst I was 'bopped' on the head multiple times with a diffuser and my hair was caked so thickly in products that the following day my hair was pretty much stuck to my head in a gluey clump. After the drying, I was just left again sitting there and told to wait for the stylist to come back - but she had other clients on the go by this time and didn't even acknowledge me sitting there (right next to her) waiting, nor tell me how long it would be before I would be seen again - by this time I had been there for an hour and a half and had arranged to meet friends - it was getting ridiculous after 7 mins of waiting, and she was looking to be ages away from finishing with her other client, so there was nothing to do other than to leave. I also had to put my bag down on the floor which was really dirty: covered in layers of other people's hair. As usual, I cannot actually fault the haircut or quality at Alan Edwards, and I have have been going there for a few years and never had such a bad experience, so I will still try it again......but it is an expensive place - so I will be hoping for a much better experience next time, otherwise I don't think I will be going back - there are loads of other places in Glasgow!
