There is always a warm and friendly welcome from the Barbers. They make very good use of modern technology such as texts and emails to make appointments a lot easier. When I started going to the Groom Room a year or so ago, I saw myself as one of the older punters, at nearly sixty, but there is no sense of ageism and everyone gets treated with the same levels of respect, regardless of who they are. At first, I was nearly always seen by a youngish Barber called J. He was very good and easy going. Since J. hasn't been there, I have been seen by another Barber, or perhaps I should use the term hair Stylist, called G. I certainly can't fault him either, he seems a really nice bloke, and is very good and thorough at his trade, he gets a 10 from me. I believe in giving a fair critique and don't believe anywhere or anyone hasn't got some opportunity or potential for improvement. So I would like to make a couple of small constructive comments. 1. It would be good to have somewhere designated for customer coats and any carrying equipment people have when visiting town. One reason, that I go to the Groom Room is because it is my local barbers. I am still working and the prices are well suited to my own pocket. Yet, 2. Abbey Road is a severely deprived area, like most of Torquay town centre is, and many locals in the vicinity of the shop, could never afford the luxury of such a decent hair cutting experience. It's sad, but just a fact of life and worth a mention!
