Experience was ok ie not as great or satisfying as previously. Admittedly I did arrive very late for my appointment due to heavy traffic caused by a cycle event; so I was extremely fortunate that the salon was still able to fit me in. I will most definitely give Hiikus 10/10 for trying to accommodate a customer by fitting them into an unplanned/impromptu appointment. I think my experience was probably jaded due the pressures of battling traffic diversions in order to get to Hiikus. The treatment I had was seemingly short ie. Wash and steam treatment over within 30-35mins then a bit of cream, oil and finishing mist (seeing as I now have a easy-to-manage curl). For the price and short steam time , think it may have been a bit pricey. But cannot fault the salon as that's the going rate AND most importantly; quality and genuine products are used. So in conclusion, I think it's just me, ie.my (and sometimes fussy/picky) expectations were not met probably due to my vibe not being in synch because of the ridiculously tidious traffic impeding my attempts to reach the salon today. Perhaps next time I would reschedule my appointment in such an unexpected delay scenario so that my experience at the salon won't be negatively impacted. As regards to rating Hiikus, out of 10 (10 being the highest) I would say: Overall environment: 9 (ambience is cool, music good quality, tv (showing adequate prog.), cleanliness, very good eg. no hair droppings left on the floor or dirty hair brushes etc). Staff treatment and professionalism: 9 (mostly friendly staff, chatty and good at listening and offering professional advice as to one's hair needs) OVERALL LIKELIHOOD TO RECOMMEND THE SALON: 10 (Already have when a stranger complimented me on my hair) . Hiikus so far is one of the best salons in London that I have been to (and I have sampled many, some with awfully detrimental consequences). Hiikus are experinced with most afro-carribean hair needs from natural hair to weaves, tailor-making wigs, braiding to perms (curly or straight) and more.
