very messy booking and rescheduling the appointment twice, even the same day. not much attention paid to haircut, more hairstyling. I had to cut some ends at home. hairs felt very greasy without volume on top. but hairs looked generaly good, very curly and shiny.

I don’t feel like I got the hair cut I asked for and discussed with my stylist. I feel like she just followed the cut I already had and got rid of the split ends, rather than restyling and adding layers like we discussed. I follow the Aveda Be Curly styling process at home that Nuala taught me at my first appointment but even with that the cut just doesn’t look good this time round. A totally disappointing post lockdown hair cut.

This was my third time at Nuala Morey and although I didn’t have a bad experience and I am happy with the cut, I do feel like my experiences in the past were better. The staff were more informative, took the time to make me feel pampered and was generally better. For the amount you pay to come to a salon like this I feel there could be more done to the interior decor to make it seem like a more premium experience.

The service and staff are excellent but my hair was not what I was hoping for. After a lengthy chat about my hair and 3 hours in the salon, my hair was so tightly coiled that in all honesty I looked like a young Shirley Temple, at 57 it wasn’t a good look for me. I thanked the stylist for the time she had dedicated to me but unfortunately I’m not the kind of person to complain. I then bought products, I had said I would order online (because I just wanted to get out of the salon as I felt everyone was staring at my hair) but was told ‘oh but then you have to pay p&p, I can give u a discount if you buy 5 products but when asking the prices, I was told ‘this is £20ish, this is £30ish’ so I had no clue what I was spending. All the products that were used on my hair, 8 in total were laid out in front of me, and me being me, I felt obliged. When I got in the car and really looked at my hair and touched the back, it was so heavy with product, clearly just to tame it, stupidly I then touched my face and clearly the huge product mix didn’t agree with me, plus the smell of all the products was pretty strong. A 7 hour journey in total, plus 3 hours in the salon then home to wash my hair as 1 - I looked silly and 2 - my hair felt and smelt overpowering. I have messaged the owner but so far no reply.

Really happy with my end result, but felt like the service (had to wait awhile etc) could've been improved due to how much money I had spent on the haircut. I also assumed I'd be with the same stylist throughout the whole experience but someone else actually styled my hair instead, so I just felt like I wasn't actually getting the experience I paid for - I'm not sure if this was just because they were understaffed or something at the time though.
