We had a very pleasant luxury manicure today. My sister in law and I normally visit together as part of a regular "girly" day, with a treatment at The Rye Retreat before a little shopping and then lunch. We find it a very charming and well run salon, and enjoy coming for our treatments together, a time to chat and catch up.. Following our manicure today we were offered a drink and taken to the indoor loungers for a period of relaxatiom and to allow our nails to dry. We were relaxing on the loungers and chatting, not loudly, when a member of staff walked past us towards the door of a treatment room and said "Ladies I just want to draw your attention to this" holding up and indicating a sign on the door requesting quiet while a treatment was in progress. I felt rather affronted by this, as we were there simply relaxing and chatting, not in any way noisily, and I must say I was rather offended by the way in which we were spoken to, rather like children being naughty. If these loungers are placed so close to a "quiet" treatment room, perhaps the room ought to be soundproofed rather than your other clients being silenced? It was a rather disappointing end to what had otherwise been a very pleasant experience.
